Sweet Dreams: REISHI & CACAO
Cacao can be energizing sometimes, and this is due to the theobromine it contains. However, it can also help you sleep at night as it helps to balance brain chemistry.
It also contains magnesium, which helps relax your nervous system and produces a calming effect in your body.
However, for some people, drinking cacao at night can be overstimulating, so here I share a secret ingredient that has helped balance cacao’s energy: REISHI.
Reishi is a medicinal mushroom known as the mushroom of immortality due to its benefits. As an adaptogen, reishi adjusts to the individual’s needs and can assist in calmness and stress reduction.
RECIPE:
~ 1 tbsp of chopped ceremonial cacao
~ 1 cup of coconut milk
~ Spices: cinnamon, cardamom
~ 1 tsp of rice syrup
~ 1/4 tsp reishi mushroom
Preparation:
Pour the coconut milk or your favorite milk into a pot over low to medium heat and add your chopped cacao. Once the cacao is completely melted, add your spices, rice syrup, and reishi mushroom.
